Punjabi is an Indo-Aryan language predominantly spoken in the Punjab region of India and Pakistan. The language has approximately 33 million native speakers and an additional 3 million secondary speakers.

The Punjabi language is written in the Gurmukhi script, which was standardized and used by the second Sikh guru, Guru Angad (1504-1552). It is written from left to right and consists of 45 letters, including 10 vowels and 35 consonants.

• Vowels (10 Letters): ਅ, ਆ, ਇ, ਈ, ਉ, ਊ, ਏ, ਐ, ਓ, ਔ
• Consonants (35 Letters): ਕ, ਖ, ਗ, ਘ, ਙ, ਚ, ਛ, ਜ, ਝ, ਞ, ਟ, ਠ, ਡ, ਢ, ਣ, ਤ, ਥ, ਦ, ਧ, ਨ, ਪ, ਫ, ਬ, ਭ, ਮ, ਯ, ਰ, ਲ, ਵ, ਸ਼, ਸ, ਹ, ਲ਼
• Numbers in Punjabi: ੦ (0), ੧ (1), ੨ (2), ੩ (3), ੪ (4), ੫ (5), ੬ (6), ੭ (7), ੮ (8), ੯ (9)
